About me

Simply put: I’m a filmmaker. My interest in images began in childhood, when I was constantly drawing. Drawing was my way to express my stories and feelings. From that passion, my curiosity grew for photography and eventually for film. Visual art has always fascinated me because it’s my way of communicating.

I am currently working on the sequel to my documentary Mektup. In this new part, I investigate how labor migration in the Netherlands not only shaped the first generation, but also left deep roots in the second and third generations.
The project shows how identity, culture, and memory change through the generations and how the children and grandchildren of the first guest workers find their place in the Netherlands today.

The 61st anniversary of this was celebrated in Rotterdam at theFenix Migration Museum, hosted by the Turkish Ambassador in The Hague, Mrs. Fatma C. Yazgan. The documentary “Mektup” (The Letter) was shown during this event. As a director, my goal is to keep the stories and experiences of the older generation alive and connect them with the new generation, creating a bridge between the past and the future. Son Haber

I want to understand people and their stories so I can deepen my craft and create my own unique voice.

I believe film is the language through which we can understand each other, a way to build bridges between people, cultures, and perspectives. With each new project, I strive to make that connection tangible by telling stories that are not just seen, but truly felt.
